The Well-Formed Outcome

a very powerful model on GOAL SETTING by Dr. Bob Bodenhamer.

1) State the goal in positive terms.
Describe the Present Situation and compare it with the desired future goal.
  • Where are you now?
  • Where do you want to be?
  • What do you want?
  • State it in the positive (what you want to achieve).
  • What are you going toward?
2) Specify the goal in Sensory Based Terms.
  • What will you see, hear, feel, etc., when you have it?
  • What steps or stages are involved in reaching this goal?
  • Engage all of your senses in this description process to employ more of your brain and nervous system.
  • Have you broken down your goal into small enough chunks so that each is do-able?
  • What are the sizes of the behavioral chunks?  Could the size possibly overwhelm you?
3) Specify the goal in a way that you find compelling.
Is the goal compelling?  Does it pull on you?  Make it a compelling future representation that’s dissociated (When you see your goal make sure you see yourself having obtained your goal.).

4) Run a Quality Control check on your Goal to make sure it is for you in all areas of your life.
  • Is the desired goal right for you in all circumstances of your life?
  • Is your goal appropriate in all your personal relationships?
  • What will having your goal give you that you do not now have?
  • What will having your goal cause you to lose?
  • Is your goal achievable?
  • Does it respect your health, relationships, etc?
Run a quality check to make sure that your goal fits every part.  Ask, “Are there any parts of me that objects to actualizing this desired goal?”  If so, address those unconscious frames of mind.
Pay attention to how your whole self responds to the question in terms of images, sounds, words, and sensations within you.
5) Self-initiated and maintained.
Is the goal something that you can initiate yourself and maintain?
Test your goal by asking if it is something that you have within your power or ability to do.
  • Is it within your control?
Your goal must be something that you can initiate and maintain.  It must not be something dependent on other people.  Make sure that your goal reflects things that you can directly affect.
  • Is it self initiated and maintained?
6) State the Context of the goal.
  • Where, when, how, with whom, etc. will you get this goal?
  • Is the goal appropriately contextualized?
Test your goal by applying it to a context: when, where, with who, etc. to make sure that it is going to be fitting and appropriate.  Readjust your goal to make sure that it fits.

7) State the Resources needed to achieve the goal.
  • What resources will you need in order to get this goal?
  • Who will you have to become?
  • Who else has achieved this goal?
  • Have you ever had or done this before?
  • Do you know anyone who has?
  • What prevents you from moving toward it and attaining it now?
 Evidence Procedure.
  • How will you know that your goal has been realized?
  • What will let you know that you have attained that desired state?

This article are meant to help the Mr and Ms LSPR understand that our brain works primarily from our sensory system (pictures, sounds, feelings), and by setting goals with these it will help us better in achieving our objectives.

Five Key Virtues Make Up The Heart of Leadership by George Torok

Leaders Invent Themselves

Post Written by George Torok

Everyone has their own role model. Some of them might choose their parents, famous person, or event super hero. They said those people they took as role models are those whose born to be a leader. They just keep admiring them without doing nothing and wondering if only they are born to be a leader like those people.

Wrong! The big myth is that leaders are born. The reality, in the words of Warren Bennis, author of On Becoming a Leader, is "Leaders Invent Themselves".

Leaders possess the core virtues within themselves. One day the spark ignites the leader to do what must be done. Leadership is about doing the right thing. After rescuing his crew from shark-infested waters, John F Kennedy was asked, "How did you become a hero?" He shrugged, "It was involuntary, they sank my boat."

Although leaders often possess management and leadership skills, true leadership comes from within. Five key virtues make up the heart of leadership: Vision; Integrity; Hunger; Risk and Passion.

1. Vision: The ability to see something that no one else can. It might be a break through product, service or discovery. But you know it can be done. Wayne Gretzky skates to where the puck will be, not where it is.

2. Integrity: My high school motto was Know Thyself. It only took me twenty years to understand what it meant. Do you know who you are and what you stand for?

3. Hunger: The desire to learn, grow and create is so strong it gnaws at you. It's why people climb mountains, why Roger Banister broke the 4-minute mile, why Bill Gates built Microsoft, why there is no limit to what we can do.

4. Risk: Leaders challenge the norm. Columbus sailed beyond the known world when everyone knew that he would fall off the edge. Risk spawns the courage to stand in front of a tank in Tiananmen Square or to challenge IBM in the computer business.

5. Passion: Would you rather follow someone who is logical or passionate? Terry Fox had a passion. Nelson Mandela, imprisoned for 27 years, only had to recant his beliefs to be released. Instead he chose to follow his passion. He reminds us, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us."

All five of these virtues must be present in a leader. Look for these virtues in yourself and those around you.

well, talking about choosing superhero as your role model, If you are looking for it - pick Batman. There is only one Superman, born on Krypton to be a hero on Earth. But everyone can be a Batman. He is the only super hero without super powers. Yet he stands head to head with Superman for respect. Batman is just a human who developed his thinking and physical skills. He possessed the core leadership virtues of Vision, Integrity, Hunger, Risk, and Passion.

Often it is something traumatic that awakens leaders - consider Terry Fox, Churchill and Kennedy. But any dramatic change can awaken the leader within you.Take advantage of the changes you face to awaken your leader within. It is curious that today's entrepreneurs exhibit the leadership qualities of early explorers. We all have the potential to be leaders. Can you stand the light?

Hopefully this article would help Develop the leaders between Mr and Ms LSPR finalist and others that read it.
