Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 Photo Contest

This was the second concrete program of Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 and also part of the “Say No To Drugs and Free Sex” campaign. This contest opened wide the opportunity for LSPR Students to express their support for the campaign in a form of picture they originally captured with their own camera.
Enthusiasm for this contest was pleasing.that so many students happened to ask the what and how since the very first time the information was delivered by Mr. Benny and Ms. Brenda on Sound of Thursday on 28th November 2013.

Sola Gracia, one of the winner for this competition admitted that she really support the campaign and committed to join the contest right after it was announced. No wonder that she actually was the first contestant that submitted the photo.
Awarding moment was held on 2nd December 2013 and all the winners were given a number of interesting prizes such as LSPR Sweater, LSPR Mug, Cinema Voucher and some others.

Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 Campaign “Say No To Drugs and Free Sex”

21st November 2013 was the date Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 cooperated with LSPR Student League conducted a campaign “Say No To Drugs and Free Sex” that was run for about a week at LSPR. As noted from the theme, this campaign was initiated to ensure LSPR students that they are aware about Drugs and Free Sex as issues they need to deal with wisely.
Practically this campaign allowed LSPR Students to write down their commitment in a wide blank spread of banner to stay away from the two (drugs and free sex). Enthusiasm from LSPR Students emerged from the first day of campaign that in a day only a few part of the banner left unwritten.
On 28th November LSPR Band supported the campaign on “Sound of Thursday”, a regular live music performance at LSPR Campus B Cafetaria. Duo Mr&Ms Congeniality 2013 Ms. Sheila and Mr. Onky (who is also Mr. Talent 2013) happened to do a number and succeeded making the event even merrier, attracting more crowds. Then it was closed with a live campaign by Mr&Ms LSPR 2013 Mr. Benny and Ms. Brenda about the two issues being campaigned and they also encourage fellow students to join the Photo Contest by Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013.

Mr. & Ms. LSPR for CABARET The Musical

2013 was the year for Teatro LSPR 13th Production and Cabaret was the title of the year. Another good news for Mr. and Ms. LSPR big family that Ms. Brenda Pangemanan & Mr. Aditya Gilank had the chance to be its main casts for this production. Ms. Brenda had the role of Sally Bowles, a young English singer for a night club known as Kit Kat Club in the corner of Berlin in 20s and it’s Mr. Aditya who casted as the Master of Ceremony (Emcee) of the club; a ghoulish, flamboyant and leering figure.
The story centers on the relationship of Sally Bowles and a young American writer, Cillford Bradshaw (who was starred by Mr. Michael Kho from Mr. & Ms. 2011). Background of the story brought the rough condition in Germany while Nazi regime was still around. However, during the semi-interactive spots within the show, the Emcee welcomes and assures the audience that whatever their troubles, they will forget them at the Cabaret.
Norman Karnadi, Mr. LSPR 2011, was also on stage as Herr Schultz, a jewish fruitshop owner who loves a German. In addition to that, one of the main person behind the success of the show was actually coming from Mr. & Ms. LSPR (2011) family, the one and only Ms. Adda Pukta Maria as the Producer.
            Proud!

Mr. Neil and His Sugarcoat for Close Up Fresformance!

NEIL! NEIL! NEIL!
Mr. Neil never failed causing a girls-dominating crowd every time he performs in concerts conducted by his Performing Arts Communication (PAC) Class. He’s got the groove that he let it all out through his voice and dance moves.
Last December was his final track of the journey in Close Up Freshformance competition that he and Sugarcoat (the team he joins in) joined. It wasn’t an ordinary talent search competition that seeks for those who’s good in singing and dancing. From the very beginning, the requirements to this and that in the competition were sometimes overwhelming Mr. Neil and team noticing the fact they managed everything by themselves. However the spirit that he has and so does his team succeeded leading them to be the Top 5 National Grandfinalist of the competition!

Well, they didn’t make it to get the main trophy, but being the top 5 beating hundreds of applicants was indeed an achievement Mr. Neil and team should be proud of.
Good job, Mr. Neil. SWAG (?)

Mr. Aditya for Sister City Youth Program

Last 19 - 29 November was another chance for Aditya Gilank Pratama representing Indonesia in an international event bearing a title 2013 International Youth Organization Forum and Beijing Sister City Youth Program. Long processes of selection and quarantine were paid off by the benefits that he got during the program.
Activities that he did while he was in Beijing included exploration of the whole essential parts of the city for the purpose of research data he was to pursue, gaining connection with local students, cultural mission through performing traditional arts from Indonesia especially Jakarta with Nandak dance as the main part of the performance, and of course the making of research as mentioned.
The research that he and his fellow delegates did mainly focused on Leadership and Nationalism, Entrepreneurship and Art & Culture. Delegates were split into 3 groups and Aditya’s group highlighted the issue about the (turned out to be) tendency of young people in China to use international products (with Handphone / Smartphone as the research object) and question if it affected their nationalism. The result more or less gave the idea that it actually didn’t since people in China have so many other alternative to implement and prove their nationalism.
It had been a great experience for Aditya and he felt grateful to bring the good name of STIKOM LSPR, where he goes to, in international field. Prior to this, on the first year at LSPR, he delegated Indonesia for Asian Youth Forum 2011 in Taipei that led him to be one of the selected student leaders after the event to handle the next forum in Vladivostok.
“I am a full-time learner and will always spare wide rooms for improvements. And such experience would mean nothing if I also did nothing after I got back home. Therefore, making change are two words that must always stay on my shoulders.”

Mr. Jeffrey Nayoan : Koko Cici Jakarta 2013

Koko Cici Jakarta is beauty pageant that seeks for social&culture and tourism ambassador of DKI Jakarta, a program under Dinas Pariwisata DKI Jakarta. Its aim is to provide the venue for prospective ambassador that is able to take the role in preserving the culture especially Tionghoa culture, and also supporting DKI Jakarta potential in tourism.
Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 has Mr. Calvin Gunawan as the alumni of this beauty pageant. During the competition, he proves that KoCi taught him a lot especially when it comes to gain confidence like slicing a cake.
For this year, Mr. Jeffrey Nayoan should give himself a credit that he made it to be one of the finalist of Koko Cici Jakarta 2013. The selection process was a slippery road, to him. And it was even harder when the quarantine term began. However, learning from the latest experience in Mr. & Ms. LSPR, he implemented the concept that he shouldn’t even think of the result, just show everything he’s got and let god do the rest.
Therefore, despite the result wasn’t something he expected, he is still proud of himself that he had done his best and succeeded not to scapegoat his hectic schedule (taking care of his final year in campus) as his reason not to do the best.

“He was shining on stage! Ah well… everything happens for reason”, said one of his supporter from LSPR right after the final night.

Ms. Ranieta : Winner of News Casting Protocol Fair 2013

Every time Ms. Ranieta joined any newscaster competition, most of her friends wouldn’t even think of Ranieta going back home with no trophy at all. Yes, this August 93-born really has her own X-Factor when it comes to broadcasting field.
Last November she made it to be the winner in News Anchor Competition at National Protocol Fair 2013, Bandung. Her struggle by rehearsing everyday with her fellow TV Club was paid off by the result.
In 2013, more than one trophies she got from the competitions she joined, including:
  •  1st Runner Up News Casting Competition at Communication Festival, Pelita Harapan University.
  • 1st Runner Up News Casting Competition at UMN (Universitas Multimedia Nusantara).
  •  1st Runner Up at SCTV Goes To Campus 2013.

Keep up the good work, Ms. Ranieta!

Ms. Nadia Juliana : Putri Batik Indonesia 2013

Since 2011, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Republic of Indonesia holds an annual program “Putra Putri Batik Nusantara” (PPBN), a program that represents government’s commitment to maximize its action to encourage Indonesia young people to love their national heritage, with Batik as the object in this case.
2nd October, took place in Taman Ismail Marzuki Jakarta, our one and only Ms. Nadia Juliana was selected to be the winner of the competition and she now embraces the title and responsibility as the Putri Batik Nusantara 2013. So many duties she has done by far, representing Putra Putri Batik Nusantara and Indonesia.
“To be honest, I am so happy with this. However that’s just not enough since becoming the ambassador for Batik, Nationally and Internationally, is a big responsibility that I gotta deal with. Here I learn much about organization, socialization, things that surely will come in handy for my future as an International Relations students
Getting to know her from Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013, we see her as one friendly person to talk with, the one that never looks too much for his beauty and bright ideas are enough to take the idea that Ms. Nadia is an all-in-one representative.

Shoulder to lean on for her friends and her loving boyfriend; an international student in a practical school; freelance radio announcer in 95,1 Kiss FM; Putri Batik Nusantara 2013. Do you find any reason not to ask her tips on how to spare time?

Proud of you, Ms. Julia! Keep up the good work.

Mr. & Ms. LSPR for LSPR Student League Election

LSPR finds it important to educate its students about Democracy as one of the essential points of Indonesia as a country. The willing is annually implemented by holding a transparent election for its Student Council body known as LSPR Student League. The whole election process includes the Meet & Greet with candidates, Campaign weeks, argument-off the so called Debate Night, until the election weeks that allow LSPR students, lecturers, and staffs to choose their best candidates.
Just like the previous year, there were 3 President and 3 Vice candidates for 2013 Election. Was a sweet coincidence that the 3 Vice President candidates were all coming from Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013. They were Ms. Sheila Siregar (Christian Santoso partner), Mr. Jeffrey Nayoan (Fransisca Natasha partner), and Mr. Aditya Gilank (Williem Leonardi partner).
Competition among the candidates started right after the coronation night last July. It was a fair and much as tough competition between them especially for the Vice since knowing the fact that the 3 were best friends gave the prospective voters confusion on who to choose. These 3 best friends happened to call themselves “Frienemies” during the election term. However they believe that inside the joke, they have the commitment to support anyone who made it to be the one, which went to Ms. Sheila and her partner. The 3 admitted that Mr. & Ms. LSPR influenced their performance during the election process. They brought along the confidence, the spirit, and so the ability in public speaking that they utilized on their campaign and the debate night. Of all those, together they had the willing to bring the good name of Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 by doing the best they could.

The output of this annual program also went to Ms. Pia Annisa who was selected to be The Public Relation Officer (PRO) for LSPR Modelling Club (successor of Ms. Virginia as the previous officer for Modelling Club) and Yulita Putri as the Vice President for LSPR Marching Band.

Mr. Jeffry ‘3 Sash(es)’ Wiranata : The Story Telling National Champ!

Perhaps, it wasn’t easy for Mr. Jeffry to get to his boarding house right after the coronation night since he had a lot in his shoulders…literally. Yes, he awe-d the audience for he succeeded bringing home 3 Sashes on the coronation night; Mr. Favorite, Mr. Best In Traditional Costume, and Mr. Runner Up 1 2013.

Nobody wondered about the result especially the finalists that already got used to the fact that Jeffry always has something to talk about and too good to be true that it always amazingly happened during the Q&A Session either on rehearsal or the D-Day on the coronation night.
He admitted that Public Speaking is already part of his life and 2103 was his year when it comes to that. He got the 3rd position in the national story telling competition “The ICON 2013” where he had to beat many contestants prior to his winning.

“In public speaking, what you say is important but it is not the most important of all. Public speaking is more about how you say it, yes, the way you deliver the message is the one that matters. Just beat the fear and just speak as if you are the only trusted person in front of people. Hahaha!” – said Mr. Jeffry.

5.      Ms. Viola Andrea
6.      Mr. Onky Frastian

Later on Ms. Nathannia also had the same opportunity to be featured on LSPR Printed Ads for LSPR International programs.

Cheers!

Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 for LSPR Goes To School

Coronation Night was actually an annual ringing bell for another start for Mr. & Ms. LSPR. Therefore no matter what the result was, the day after the night was a starting point for (for the competition was over, can somebody scratch the word “finalist of” from “Finalist of Mr. and Ms. LSPR 2013”? Thanks in advance!) Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 as a whole to give concrete contribution for LSPR in so many ways.
Aside from the point where Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 will carry on their own programs, one of the ways available for the contribution mentioned above is taking part at LSPR Goes To School program. The activity is under the marketing division of LSPR and what they do there isn’t about sitting prettily on the booth, but they being ready to explain everything related to LSPR to the prospective students or parents just like what an ambassador commonly does.
It is a good opportunity for Mr. & Ms. LSPR since it might enhance their ability in communication, specifically in marketing communication. The only thing that they should prepare is merely a time as for the knowledge about LSPR is one thing that all of them already know well about from the product knowledge session on the quarantine term.
Mr. Deyo is one of the Mr. & Ms. LSPR that has already been proving his commitment when it comes to this. He barely said no every time the offer comes, which is often.

“Network and training field to enhance my ability in dealing with people. The two might be the main reasons I am into this activity. Well, I think I should start considering it as my new hobby! Haha. Well of all that, I am just willing to give contribution for Mr and Ms Family and LSPR with any possible way I can do.”

Brenda Pangemanan "The Ms. LSPR 2013"

“My feeling is absolutely grateful for the opportunity. I feel like… now I can reach more hearts and inspire more people. I’m completely honored and blessed, and somehow I feel like this is my stepping stone to a brighter future”
Expressed Bee, that’s what Brenda Pangemanan commonly known as, when she got asked about her feeling to get the title as Ms. LSPR 2013. She admitted that the experience she went through together with her fellow Mr. & Ms. LSPR 2013 finalists was one of the best of the year. It’s not only she being lucky that she got the Tiara on her head, but also for what she has from the public speaking skill, her fluency in English, her spirit and enthusiasm that she let it all out through the fashion show and dance performance including her sincere answer on Q&A session at the Coronation Night.
Inside that tiny and energetic figure, she has so many potential that she maintains really well especially when it comes to singing. She, who was born in Semarang 2 September 1993, has a beautiful voice that everybody would die for. Proven by her track records in singing that already stepped on international zone with her achievements such as 2011 Winner of the 6th World Choir Games in Shao Xing (China), 2010 Gold Medal for Children’s Choir in Shao Xing (China), 2009 Gold Medal for A Voyage of Songs, International Choir Competition, Malaysia, 2007 Gold Medal in International Choir Competition Thailand and the last one was the opportunity for her to be the main cast for 13th Production of Teatro LSPR (Cabaret the Musical) in which she sang several musical numbers inside.
“A good friend of mine once said if the world is nothing but a blank piece of paper and we are nothing but coloring pencils, it doesn’t matter what color you are; what matters is what you can do to that piece of paper. I hope I can do more things to put as much color to that blank piece of paper, and to prove that the Tiara is on the right head”, as she curved a smile.

Mr. Benny Satrya Bonardy "The Mr. LSPR 2013"

Wears glasses, loves to curve a wide smile representing hospitality, has a twin who also goes to the same school and major (not that much worrying since they don’t go to the same class. Yeay?) Exactly! It’s Benny Satrya Bonardy!
He was born in West Borneo, 30 April 1994. Graduated from Santo Ignasius Singkawang, West Borneo, in 2012 and he is now a student of Marketing Communication major at The London School of Public Relations (LSPR) Jakarta. He has been showing his best since the first time he went to LSPR, started from his achievement to be the Public Speaker in LSPR Summer Workshop 2012, Octo Finalist in Asian English Olympic 2013, and being one of the nominations of the annual LSPR Theatre Festival 2012 Best Actor category. And in the middle of the year, he made it to be the Mr. LSPR 2013 together with Brenda Pangemanan as Ms. LSPR 2013. One of the appreciation for him and Brenda was the opportunity to get one year scholarship from LSPR.
It wasn’t an easy journey to get there. Together with his fellow finalists, he had to go through several selection processes before and during the quarantine term. He, who was one of the youngest finalists after Mr. Stanly Surya, was the finalist who consistently did well during the quarantine term according to the coaches, seniors, and also the other finalists. The biggest prove was well proven at the Coronation Night last July. On the Q&A session he got asked about an issue related to diversity in Indonesia, and he killed it with brilliant answer by asking the audience to think of a rainbow that it’s beautiful for it is colorful, it represented his support towards diversity in this country that has a lot of colors inside.

“I am glad I can be ‘somebody’ in one of the best school in Indonesia and made it to be a better person. And I also feel honored for the trust and responsibility to take part driving LSPR to be better by being a representative ambassador for LSPR. Most importantly, I am so happy that I can make the ones I love (family and friends who support me) curve wide smiles for me”, said Mr. Benny who is now also taking the responsibility as the President of Rotaract (Rotary Club in Action!) Club of LSPR.
